It is a method of communicating visually where the ultimate
focus is to convey the meaning to a particular group of persons. Here the
message is conveyed in the non-verbal form i.e., using words, images and other
such graphical elements. Not only a graphical design should be attractive but
also it should work as well. It is a general concept that what we see will stay
longer in our mind than what we hear. This is the principle behind graphical
design.
Business motive of an organization is the main
reason, which induces in doing a graphical design. Graphical design can
therefore rightly be called as an exact blend of art and business. Though
graphic designs are truly based on the theories of art, its main aim is to
create an eye pleasing design, which is functional and useful too. Usually a
graphical design will be made based on the needs and budget of the client.
What a Graphic designer actually does?
A graphic designer acts as a bridge between the client and the
audience. His aim is to convey the message to the audience in an attractive
way, which should have a good response as well. Through his work a graphical
designer should sell or tempt the audience to buy the product on behalf of
their clients.
Graphical designers use the images which are drawn, painted,
photographed or computer-generated. They also use various fonts and styles to
make the graphic design, an eye-catching one. Graphics, which are either
created or selected, should be arranged in a proper way. In simple words the
text, images and other graphical elements should capture the attraction of the
audience. Moreover it should be simple to understand so that the message could
be easily conveyed.
The role of graphic designs in our day-today life is vast.
Ranging from mere candy wrappers to the advertisement boards carrying the
picture of the jewels, automobiles etc. the role of graphical designs has
become inevitable. Graphical designs can be commonly seen in the title of the
films, in various kinds of advertisements, in magazines, books etc.
